Our town features several opportunities for fun this weekend! Starting on Friday, September 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy lots of free Jazz at Basin Spring Park. The Rodney Block Collective leads off the party. Block is an Arkansas native and one of the state’s most in-demand artists, building a niche in the jazz and hip-hop genres.
The 46th Annual Antique Auto Festival will be held at Pine Mountain Village on Saturday, 9/10 from 8a.m.-11a.m. Then the parade leaves the Village and rolls through downtown. 1922 Great Bank Robbery Reenactment immediately follows the parade on Spring Street. More Information
On Saturday, September 10, free Jazz concerts run from noon until 6 p.m. The first performers of the day are father and son guitar virtuosos, Matt and Gus Smith. Gus Smith is an Arkansas native and has played to worldwide audiences with the Navy Fleet Big Band. Matt Smith has spearheaded many projects of original and progressive music.
The headline show takes place at the historic Auditorium on Saturday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m., featuring the Brubeck Brothers Quartet. The Quartet is an exciting Jazz group featuring two members of one of America’s most accomplished musical families, Daniel Brubeck (drums) and Chris Brubeck (bass and trombone). As a special musical treat to this performance only, the 12 piece Fayetteville Jazz Collective horn ensemble will accompany the Brubeck Brothers during the second half of the show. For Tickets
