Even if you don’t consider yourself a “museum person,” Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville – less than an hour from the Tall Pines – is worth a visit. And it’s free – so what do you have to lose by giving it a try?
Located on 120 acres of Ozark forest, yet easily accessible from Highway 49, Crystal Bridges celebrates the American spirit by uniting the power of art with the beauty of nature. You can spend time viewing the permanent collection – featuring works by the Hudson River School, Georgia O’Keefe, and Norman Rockwell; enjoy one of the many temporary exhibitions – more on the current exhibition in my next blog; explore the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Bachman-Wilson House, which was moved from its original location in New Jersey and reassembled on the museum’s native-plant-landscaped grounds; and explore three miles of walking trails.
