Our dear friend in Dallas, Jo, sent us a “Souvenir Folder” of Eureka Springs from 1951… The Tall Pines Inn was already 4 – years – old!
The folder calls our fair town “Supreme Health Resort in the Ozarks.” That’s not the only accolade…”The atmosphere is perfectly pure and laden with life giving ozone… Five miles of the city streets are paved… statistics show that no other point in the United States has experienced a larger number of clear sun-shiny days and yet with ample rain fall during each year.”
No wonder the author extends “an invitation to anyone who is seeking a change of residence, confident that no more attractive place to live can be found in the United States.”
Well, we certainly have had our share of sunny days lately but rain fall could stand to be a little more ample…Good news: we have many more miles of paved roads. Come see for yourselves!
Please note: the bridge shown over the White River no longer exists and Lake Lucerne has changed dramatically – although it’s still beautiful.
